The Barking Lot is locally owned & operated by Heather MacLeod, B.Ed.

Born and raised in Fredericton, Heather has been involved with national and local dog clubs since acquiring her first German Shepherd dog in 1987.

A long-time, active member of both the Canadian Kennel Club and River Valley Obedience Club, Heather has first-hand experience in obedience training, tracking, agility, flyball, conformation shows and dog breeding. Her interest in training and competing in Canada and the United States has resulted in earning more than 25 performance titles; many at advanced levels.

Heather is also a Canadian Kennel Club judge and a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT). She has attended seminars and workshops given by many top trainers, including Steve and Jennifer White, Brenda Aloff, Dee Ganley, Chris Bach, Patty Ruzzo, Joanne Plumb, Chris Zink, John & Darlene Barnard and others.

Currently, Heather's pack includes 3 German Shepherds and two very tolerant cats.
