Wood Mountain Naturals is a dehydrated dog food, made with fresh ingredients. 98% of the ingredients are Canadian-sourced; only the oranges and olive oil are not from Canada.
Dehydration is a process that involves the removal of moisture from food to increase shelf stability and longevity. Moisture is evaporated from the food by utilizing air circulation and exposure to heat, to kill any possible pathogens.
Wood Mountain Naturals’ recipes are developed in consultation with a veterinary nutritionist. All recipes undergo testing by a third party to ensure they provide a complete and balanced diet for dogs. All three recipes are formulated for ALL life stages (puppies, adults and seniors).
There are approximately 50 cups of food in each 4 kg box. Use this information along with the feeding guide to calculate how many days a box might last for your pet.
Feeding guide: feed approximately 1 cup (dry) of dehydrated Wood Mountain Naturals for every 20 lbs of your dog’s optimal weight. Note: rehydrate before feeding.
For example, a 40 lb adult dog - who is at their optimal weight - would get 2 DRY cups per day of this food (rehydrated before feeding). Each dog is is a unique individual; some may require more or less food depending on their age and activity level. Please contact the manufacturer if you have questions regarding the amount to feed a growing puppy, a pregnant or nursing dam, or giant breed dogs (over 100 lbs).
To prepare dehydrated food for consumption, simply add water! Add enough water to cover food and allow to refresh for 20 minutes before serving. For optimal digestion, split the recommended daily amount into 2 meals; morning and evening. Refrigerate any leftovers and add a bit of warm water before serving again.
As a dehydrated product, this food contains very little moisture, so is completely shelf-stable. No refrigeration is required until water has been added. (Refrigeration is not required while rehydrating a meal immediately prior to serving.) Store food in a sealed bag in a cool, dry location. Avoid heat, moisture and direct sunlight. When stored properly, dehydrated food can last up to one year.
